چکیده

SWARM is a new concept we propose to create dynamic robotic networks that are able to perform complex tasks in a dynamic environment. To achieve this we will combine and extend the state of the art in the fields of ambient intelligence, distributed computing and robotic swarms.

Enhanced QoS Support with Self Reconfigurable Wireless Mesh Networks

Support for multimedia quality of service (QoS) is critical and necessary requirement for next generation wireless networks. Wireless Mesh Networking is envisioned as an economically viable paradigm and a promising technology for supporting multimedia QoS. To maximize the aggregate utilization of traffic flows in a multi-hop wireless network, with constraints imposed both due to self-interferen...

Architecture and protocol design for a pervasive robot swarm communication networks

There has been increasing interest in deploying a team of robots, or robot swarms, to fulfill certain complicate tasks such as surveillance. Since robot swarms may move to areas of far distance, it is important to have a pervasive networking environment for communications among robots, administrators, and mobile users. In this paper, we first propose a pervasive architecture to integrate wirele...

Using Autonomous Robots to Diagnose Wireless Connectivity

Due to the proliferation of wireless devices, many wireless users treat wireless connectivity as a black box. When wireless performance does not meet expectations, it can be a frustrating experience to try and resolve wireless issues. Wireless problems are more significant for mobile robots due to strenuous requirements for sustained wireless connectivity while moving [1]. Unfortunately, it can...

Interference Effects Redress over Power-Efficient Wireless-Friendly Mesh Networks for Ubiquitous Sensor Communications across Smart Cities

Ubiquitous sensing allows smart cities to take control of many parameters (e.g., road traffic, air or noise pollution levels, etc.). An inexpensive Wireless Mesh Network can be used as an efficient way to transport sensed data. When that mesh is autonomously powered (e.g., solar powered), it constitutes an ideal portable network system which can be deployed when needed. Nevertheless, its power ...

Effective Mechatronic Models and Methods for Implementation an Autonomous Soccer Robot

Omni directional mobile robots have been popularly employed in several applications especially in soccer player robots considered in Robocup competitions. However, Omni directional navigation system, Omni-vision system and solenoid kicking mechanism in such mobile robots have not ever been combined. This situation brings the idea of a robot with no head direction into existence, a comprehensi...
